Do NOT buy from Itabag Palace! They scalp prices, sell bootleg merch, and are awful owners.
I just looked at itabag palace again and they're charing $70 for a bag thats $15 in like 30 places on ebay
Yikes, I saw on twitter that itabag palace has a new discount code and its blacklivesmatter, which I guess would be okay if they were donating proceeds but we all know they are not
I kind of always figured itabagpalace over charged. I would always see their booth at conventions and wonder “... aren’t these just the steamedbun bags off of amazon?” Kind of glad to know my feeling of “don’t buy from them” was right
Moral of the story is: never use Itabag Palace. Their business practices are abhorrent and their business should not be allowed to keep running with the vicious scalping and lack of communication
Oh yeah my friend bought a tote bag from them for $50 I think, a few years ago and it was awful, I compared the quality to bounty paper towels
I agree when others say to be wary of Itabag Palace. 400% price inflation for Aliexpress / taobao bags isn’t the way to go, chief
They sell knockoff bags for ridiculous prices; and even if one or two aren’t knockoff the prices are absolutely stupid high :( I always tell everyone to avoid them and actually report them if they’re selling at your local con bc technically the sale of knockoff products is usually forbidden in con scenes. They used to also be a “stage play service provider” but there’s proof they ripped off multiple ppl :/
They are basically taobao resellers who mark up the price by a lot. For instance, their $46 "Solid Color Itabackpack" was originally a 390 yen bag. You can find basically all these bags much cheaper on taobao if you are willing to use a shopping service or even aliexpress.
It's an overpriced bootleg seller, but if you have no other choice they're not "bad" in the sense that you won't get what you ordered?? I've used animeonstage's buying service and they're like the same people so shrug, also nothing wrong with bootleg bags, just cruel to sell them at that price.
Itabag palace sales overpriced ebay bags. You are best buying from ebay or aliexpress. I wouldn't buy anything. You could get accessories much cheaper everywhere else and they've been known to sell bootleg merch at official merch prices without letting the buyers know. They use to be "Anime on Stage" but changed their name for all the bad rep they were getting due to bootlegs and bad customer service.
Ive personally seen them sell $4 base bags for $40. Which is EXTREMELY ridiculous.
As a fellow ita bag seller, I can honestly say these bags are a ripoff. They're marked at triple (or sometimes more than) the original price. There are plenty of places that sell them for cheaper - use them!!
They’re trash and for the love of god if you see them going to sell at a convention report them, they resell overpriced bags, sell bootleg rubber straps, and their former stage play services was a sham
Don’t buy from any of their stores, ever. Itabag Palace, Anime on Stage, and Aka Neko Doujin (I’m not sure they do that one anymore or not?). I used to be quite close friends with the owners until some stuff came up that I won’t go into bc it’s extremely personal and not my place to tell.
Them trying to say that the bootleg straps was a mistake is a complete lie, they’ve always bought them from taobao knowing full well they were bootlegs. When authenticity identification posts started popping up here, they started displaying them with a backing card and wouldn’t let anybody take them out and look at the back since there’s no print.
Their bags? All from taobao as well. There’s literally 0 difference between them and the ones you see on eBay, they don’t get them “made at a different factory”, any difference in quality comes from them and the eBay sellers potentially reselling from a different taobao store. Their chains and lights are from taobao as well (and are hilariously cheap on tb compared to the prices they sell them for). For a number of their newer bags on their site too they’re not even TRYING to hide the fact that they’re taobao resellers, they’re using the pictures straight from taobao, some of them cropped down a bit but you can still tell.
In 2016, when they had their doujin business (if they don’t anymore), they had a friend of mine living in Japan act as a proxy for Enstage goods. Another friend of mine also in Japan put a copy of her new doujin in the parcel, free of charge, as a GIFT to them. When they got it instead of you know, keeping the gift, they decided to sell it WITH NO MONEY GOING BACK TO THE ARTIST. Which IMO, is really shitty!
tl;dr they’re taobao bootleg resellers who know Full Well what they’re doing and are more than happy to make up “oopsie poopsie siwwy me, I made a mistake!” lies to keep ripping people off. Plus their morals are way off and would rather profit off of a friend than appreciate them.
